Our time in Shanghai culminated in some great sightseeing and we took this picture from “The Bund” across the Yantzghe river and pointing toward the financial district of Shanghai.
Before touring, however, we started our time in Shanghai at the Associated School of Fudan University.
We began that visit with a great lunch in the school cafeteria.
They had a plan for us to talk with the students about high school life in the US, college admissions, and debate.
They were very supportive of promoting debate at their school.
Priten, Humza, and Jatin talked with students about high school life in America, co and extra curricular activities, and admissions to US universities.
Jatin and Humza then engaged in a demo debate against Minnie and Jackson.
On our second day in Shanghai, we visited Shanghai High School International Division. Students from more than 35 countries attend high school here.
We spent most of our time discussing debate, including the topic we debated in Hangzhou and that they were about to debate in the Shanghai tournament.
The school currently has a debate club and they have plans to make debate a class in the fall.
After the debate, we went to visit the financial district of Shanghai (pictured above) and had the chance to explore the Pearl Tower. We were able to get a great view from the 263rd floor of the tower, which featured a glass floor for easy viewing!

After some time on the observation deck, we had a great meal at the Tower’s rotating restaurant.
And then we were able to get a picture from the walking circle near the bottom of the tower (picture above from the top of the tower).
