Both Anthropic and OpenAI have recently said we are close to the point at which AI will start building itself — Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI).
This disadvantage argues that once we hit RSI, we will lose control of AI, and an AI takeover will result. It claims that the only way to stop it is through an economic collapse, which will prevent AI investment and development.
